Excel formula generator
Type “Revenue = Units * Unit Price” or “calculate each row's share of total Revenue”. Nexell builds the formula from your column names, shows the result at once and writes it into your download as a live Excel formula. All 495 supported functions work by their English or Turkish names.

How it works
How the Excel formula generator works
-
1
Bring your table
Paste a list, or upload a PDF, Excel, CSV or Word file. The column headers become the names you use in formulas.
-
2
Say what you need
Write an equation (“Revenue = Units * Unit Price”), a request (“rank by Units”) or a formula with IF, SUMIF or XLOOKUP. English and Turkish both work.
-
3
Check the preview, then apply
Nexell shows what it understood and which column it will add. Nothing changes until you click Apply, and every step can be undone.
-
4
Download live formulas
Each added column is a real formula in the .xlsx file, so it recalculates when your numbers change. Downloading uses no credits.
Real example
Three formulas from three sentences
We pasted a small online shop's product sales into the tool and typed three requests. The products are made up; the table, requests and formulas are the engine's real output.
1Pasted list
2In Nexell
- List read: 4 columns, 6 rows. Units and Unit Price came in as numbers.
- Revenue = Units * Unit PriceAdded column Revenue (=[@Units] * [@Unit Price])
- calculate each row's share of total RevenueAdded a share of total (%) column for Revenue
- Status = IF(Units >= 100, "Bestseller", "Regular")Added column Status (=IF([@Units] >= 100, "Bestseller", "Regular"))
Each request came back as a preview first and changed the table only after Apply.
3In Excel
=IFERROR(E2/SUM($E$2:$E$7),"")| A | B | C | D | E | F | G | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Product | Category | Units | Unit Price | Revenue | Revenue Share | Status |
| 2 | Trail running shoes | Footwear | 84 | 129.00 | 10,836.00 | 22.97% | Regular |
| 3 | Merino wool socks | Accessories | 310 | 18.50 | 5,735.00 | 12.15% | Bestseller |
| 4 | Rain shell jacket | Outerwear | 45 | 189.00 | 8,505.00 | 18.03% | Regular |
| 5 | Insulated water bottle | Accessories | 152 | 32.00 | 4,864.00 | 10.31% | Bestseller |
| 6 | Hiking boots | Footwear | 61 | 165.00 | 10,065.00 | 21.33% | Regular |
| 7 | Fleece pullover | Outerwear | 97 | 74.00 | 7,178.00 | 15.21% | Regular |
Revenue and Status are live formulas too: E2 is =C2*D2 and G2 is =IF(C2>=100,"Bestseller","Regular"). Change a quantity in Excel and revenue, share and status follow. The Chart sheet sums Revenue by Status with SUMIF and a column chart: Regular 36,584.00 · Bestseller 10,599.00. Cost: 4 credits (the conversion plus three requests); downloading was free.
Produced with Nexell's server engine on October 14, 2026; the values match the downloaded file.
Why Nexell
What Nexell does differently
Same sentence, same formula
The engine is rule-based. The same request on the same table always writes the same formula; we ran this example twice and got an identical file.
English or Turkish function names
SUMIF(Region, [@Region], Sales) and ETOPLA(Region; [@Region]; Sales) become the same Excel formula. Commas or semicolons both work.
Column names, not cell ranges
[@Units] is this row's value and Units is the whole column. Nexell writes the cell addresses into the file for you.
Formulas that keep working
Results are formulas, not pasted values, so the workbook keeps calculating after you edit the numbers.
A formula tab that explains
Test a formula on the first rows, see errors in plain words and get each function and argument explained. The Formula tab uses no credits.
Find the right function
Search the library for “conditional sum” or “VLOOKUP” to see the English and Turkish name, the syntax and a short description.
Limits
What to know before you start
- Formulas stay inside the table. References to another sheet or file, such as Prices!A:B, are not supported.
- Not every phrasing is understood. The engine says so instead of guessing, and that costs nothing. An equation such as “Bonus = Units * 0.05” is the safest form.
- Read the preview. An unusual sentence can be read as a different task; nothing is applied until you click Apply.
- English and Turkish only. Requests in other languages are not understood.
- Check US-style dates. Month-first dates (09/14/2026) are not recognized reliably yet; 2026-09-14 becomes a real Excel date.
- Size limits: Free plan tables up to 5,000 rows and files up to 10 MB. Each request uses 1 credit per 10,000 rows.
FAQ
Excel formula generator: common questions
Is the Excel formula generator free?
The Free plan gives you 30 credits a month, no card needed. Each typed request uses 1 credit per 10,000 rows, and a request that isn't understood is free. Writing, testing and explaining formulas in the Formula tab, and downloading, use no credits.
Do I need to know Excel function names?
No. Describe the result, such as “rank by Units”, and Nexell picks the functions: here RANK.EQ inside IFERROR. If you do know the function, type it in English or Turkish.
Which Excel functions are supported?
495 functions in 11 categories, including math, statistics, text, date and time, logical, lookup (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP) and financial. The Formula tab's library shows each one's English and Turkish name, syntax and a short description.
Will I get the same formula every time?
Yes. The engine is rule-based: the same request on the same table writes the same formula and says what it did, for example “Added column Revenue (=[@Units] * [@Unit Price])”.
How do I get the formula into Excel?
Download the .xlsx file. Every added column is a real Excel formula with cell references such as =C2*D2, the header row is frozen and filters are on.
